Years ago I saw a guy do something similar to that on the NJ Turnpike near the Newark Airport. He was in the slow lane driving south and nailed a light stanchion. It went down right on a car driving north in the slow lane. Caved in the sucker's roof and the guy never knew what hit him.

It was built Ford tough back in a day it still meant something.
