The music and "traditions" in Ireland are seductive. So seductive I moved there in the 1990s. Then I saw the real Ireland. A socialist country with lousy infrastructure like transportation and "so-called free health care. It was free if you wanted to wait 6 months to see a specialist. V.A.T. (National sales tax is 23&1/2% on most items. Gas (petrol there is about $8 US per gallon and an annual Motor tax based on engine size has relegated the majority of cars to an engine of 1.4 liters. OH yea, all possession of personal fire arms is verboten. Farmers and some duck hunters can have break-action shotguns, but they carry a big annual tax and you must allow the police (Garda Siochana) to inspect them at any time they come knocking on your door. There's NO place like the United States.
