Tonight's Question

Tonight's question is how any people can identify my new header picture. It is an abandoned brewery that was torn down. Any brewery that is torn down brings a tear to my eye. I will tell you about it's history if someone can come up with the right answer. There was no beer left in the bottle....I checked....

The Newark brewery (Pabst Blue Ribbon) near Newark Liberty International Airport. I lived in north Jersey for 50+ years, my reserve unit in the early 1960's (6th MTB, U.S. Marine Corps)met at what once was "Port Newark" north of the airport. The USS Thaddeus Parker (DE-369) was berthed there as well. and I worked for 6 months on Broad Street Newark in the late 1970's. I wasn't unhappy to leave the area in the late 1980's.

Ya know Coop,

You mentioning the place can be seen from the GSP near the 280 intersection makes me think it was really in East Orange or Irvington both I believe border on Newark. I use to commute down the GSP from Hackensack to Edison daily back in the 1980's and that's when I saw place. The other brewery was Ballantine right adjacent to the airport on Rte 9. Yup I commuted on the NJ TP too. Neither highway was fun to drive and they charged as well.
