PORT CHESTER, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — New York may be first in taxes, but a survey has ranked it dead last in one important characteristic: freedom.
That’s the verdict from one conservative think tank, CBS 2’s Lou Young reported.
Young visited the Byram River on Friday. It is one of the many borders that separate New York and Connecticut. A new study says the New York side of that river is part of the least free place in America; seriously. SOURCE

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – From a toy gun to a butter knife, a new controversy has arisen over an item a student brought to a local Wednesday.
Morgan LaPlaume, a Wamsutta Middle School student, was simply trying to cut her fruit for lunch because she has braces and can't take bites out of whole fruit, says the LaPlaume family.
During lunch, the vice principal happened to be walking by when he apparently saw Morgan with the butter knife, took her to his office, and issued her a suspension.

J & D's Foods, a Seattle company that also makes bacon lubricant -- which "began as an elaborate April Fool's prank and was never intended to be a real product" but nonetheless persists out of sheer novelty -- has topped itself by offering a pork-flavored prophylactic.
Don't worry, though: Bacon condoms only appear to "make your meat look like meat." The condoms are made of latex, and come coated with the company's special brand of water-based lube.

This incredible photograph was taken by Gary Brink (1/800, ƒ/9, ISO 200, 135 mm) on May 29, 2011, at the Holland State Park in Michigan, USA. The incredible cloud formation formed on Lake Michigan just off the beach.

After experiencing the discomfort and embarrassment of a colonoscopy in Alabama, I decided to have my next one carried out while visiting friends in San Francisco, where the beautiful nurses are allegedly much more gentle and accommodating.
As I lay naked on my side on the table, the gorgeous nurse began my procedure.
"Don't worry, at this stage of the procedure it's quite normal to get an erection," the nurse told me.
"I haven't got an erection," I replied.
"No, but I have," replied the nurse.
Don't get a colonoscopy in San Francisco.

NOTE: Perhaps these are answers to some of my “Homeland Security: The Unanswered Questions“.
Footage of hundreds of armored trucks, similar to ones reportedly purchased recently by the Department of Homeland Security, has appeared online, raising more questions over their intended use.
The first video was uploaded to YouTube last week by a user who stated that it was shot in the middle of the desert between Hackberry and Peach Springs, Arizona.
It shows hundreds of military style trucks loaded on to a train, presumably in the process of being delivered domestically for law enforcement or military purposes.

Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- This private musing between two climate scientist colleagues first surfaced along with a whole raft of embarrassing material in 2011, when the anonymous Climategate leaker who calls himself “Mr. FOIA” leaked his second set of emails from Britain’s disgraced Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia. Now, Mr. FOIA has emerged for a third time, sharing with the world not only his entire batch of 220,000 encrypted emails and documents but also, for the first time, his thoughts.
